I greatly doubt he is dead it wouldnt be usefull if they wanted him dead he would be dead it's more usefull for the U.S. if he still alive well not the civilian but the government it give them an opportunity to show that they are stronger, raise the moral troop, it make soldier die so they can be replaced by younger one and well there also some good side effect to war like after a big war it will take a long time before the next one so lot of death can be good cause anyway after a war there always lot of children given birth depending on the ammount of loss also technology breakthrough seem to happen much more during long war or after the war so basicly killing saddam would be bad cause he a weak opponent they wich give them the control of the situation if he were to die they would need another target and finding one like him would be hard cause the next 1 would probably not be just as suitable and controllable
