I am a 17 year old male, living in Toronto Ontario Canada, I am of Italian decent, and my main hobby's are playing video games, having sex with women, and drug dealing...

Using those quiting pills or patch or anything?
My Dad quit after about 30 some odd years of smoking after he had a heart attack almost a year back, without using anything. And he hasnt smoked since.
My Mom had smokes for about 20 years and quit (About 4 years ago) and hasnt smoked since either. They both love it and say they will never go back. Just a little something "about me".

i quit for 3 months using the patch, got back into it cause i was majorlly stressed, now i quit cold turkey...

I'm just having a hard time figuring out why you had to use the patch when you quit the first time? I know what you meant, but were you seriously addicted at the age of 17 or younger since you stopped again for your second time?
I don't know about you, but I started smoking when I was 13 when my brother brought me out and got me drunk for the first time. I didn't really like it, but did it anyway to get him to think I was cool. Well, I continued to smoke until a little less than a year ago. I just woke up one day and randomly decided to try and quit. I really still don't know why to this day. Anyway, long story short, after about 6 years + of heavy smoking, about a pack and half a day from 17-20, I still didn't need to use anything. I just slowed down and although I'm not 100% smoke free now (I only smoke when I'm drinking, which is still like 5 days a week at least... :( ) I'm only at like 1 and a half packs a week. :) Good, but I still ahve my work cut out for me.

Actually I had no idea that's what happened to your skin when you smoke.
How would I? I never smoked a single cigarette in my days. Nor have I done any drugs or alcohol. And I dont hang around such people. So I wouldnt really know.
You go to a gym and you don't know people who smoke? Are you fucking with me? Do happen to take aerobics class in black tights?

I do go to a gym, but it's a private gym. Only people in this apartment complex can get in. And they're not allowed to smoke in there.
Plus the times when I go is always after midnight so there is very rarely anyone there.

Kinda of an exageration there, but some people usually have oily skin + mass pimples + mass blackheads and shit like that.

i have a natural problem with oily skin... i duno most italians have that problem, thats partly why their called greeseball's and the other fact that they moose up/gel up their hell 24/7...
but yeah that pic was taking in sept, and in toronto the weather is about +35 degrees at night... which i cant handle, and everyone sweats up... so thats a contributing factor... but hell the girls tend to like it...

i use it everyday at night and in the morning, but the shit still hits during the day so it's hard to avoid...

I had to use the patch because i tried slowley reducing cig intake and it didnt work, i would get violent, i would loose control, i couldnt think, i would get fevors, i would feel jittery, so i decided to use the patch as an alternative as quitting to help me quit...
first time i was smoking was when iw as in about grade 3, only had a few wityh my bro and his friends, but i really started when i was 14.. so i have been smoking for close to 4 years now smoking a pack per 2 days...

Wow, all that shit happened to you when you tried cold turkey! The worst I had was coughing up the nastiest shit ever, an occassional irritation, and periods of having extreme problems concentrating on work. But I guess that's why I'm still trying to quit and its been over a year.
Oh and BTW, DFD, smoking does NOT make your face get oily. It was joke.

hey btw how did u reduce yourself down to a pack a week, i mean i could be comfortable doing that it's just that i think i would over indulge on the pack id buy and smoke em faster....
so how do you do it cause im considering maybe just buying a pack for the occational times when i need a smoke...

Well, I'm down to like a pack and a half normally to the ocassional 3 pack max a week. Pack and a half a week when I'm in school and just doing my normal thing. 3 packs when my high school buddies come to visit, or when there is a break in between terms, because during those times, I literally drink like 20 beers a day on average. :(
Well, I first started out trying to quit by not smoking the entire ciggarette everytime I lit up. After a while it got to the point where I said, "What the fuck am I doing? Why not just smoke half as much, but the whole thing and cut my intake by half instead of spending the same amount of money and getting less out of it."
So, I started doing that. Then after doing the same thing to the cut back amount a few more times, it got to the point I'm at now. Only problem, the next step is basically quitting, and thats a little extreme at this point. :(
Also, I had to cut back in my drinking as well, because that is a huge cig killer during those times. I still drink a good amount, especially on the weekends, but it's gotten to the point where I rarely smoke unless I'm drinking. :)
The hardest step is yet to come though. :( Good luck with yours, Doofus is definitely right!

hmm so on adverage your smoking 25% of a smoke every time u feel a need for one? then u save the wrest until u need some more again? see thats what i been doing too...

I started by only smoking half my ciggarette, then crushing the rest (you appear to save your for later, I just trash it).
Then I realized, damn, I should be smarter about this and try to conserve money, so I'll try this:
Instead of smoking only half then trashing it, I'll smoke the whole ciggarette, but only smoke half as much as I was.
That way, I'm still smoking as much I was previously, but this time more at a time, but less amounts of time (thats the part that is hard to word, I hope that is better).
So, basically I cut back to half my ciggarette intake, but didn't do it out of no where, I had that period where I was technically cutting back, but still smoking as often as before.
I did that process a few more times over the course of about a year to get to where I'm presently at now.

ok i know what your sayin now, im doing the same method presently and it is working good, the only times in which i heavily smoke is at school, wehn i chill with friends and just hang out, and when i drink... so thats basically all the time, so what ima try now is... not even smoke at school, well at least my cigarettes, ill just ask for "kills" i duno if your fimiliar with the term but whenever i call kills on a smoke, people usually leave a little amount of the smoke left for you, so ill just do that, because i think partially smoking is mental the fact that you THINK you need 1, so if u just have a bit then leave and got somethin to do, it will get off your mind... btw thanks for explaining your proccess as it has helped me into discovering other ways of reducing and figuring out other possibilities...

yeah thats whta i have noticed, you dont need the WHOLE smoke, only sometimes, so most of the time you can just get a couple dragz off someone... yeah i love the vatar too:) and the movie
