I have unfortunately not seen it, though have heard about it, from what I've heard somewhere it seems this is more focused upon the trial of a priest whom killed a girl in the name of exorcising a demon out of her body? Either that or that was the true story it was based on.

Now what I don't get is, why would a demon be so bored enough as to go all the way out as to take control over our body, hell, the majority of humans sin anyways, consciously or unconsciously and mostly don't give a shit or make up excuses. Plus we're just lowly humans whilst these are creatures strong enough to go and defy god and nearly succeed whilst us we would be wiped out of existance before we'd breach the first gate.

that's my two cents, sorry it's a bit off.

The story tells the trial not the actual exorcism. Details of the possession and the ritual of the exorcism is described in flashbacks. It's courtroom drama made un-boring.

And to judge this movie isn't really about if you believe the possession or not, frankly, I don't, and I'm a Christian. The way the movie explains it is because she is hyper-sensitive and is prone to demon possession, but that doesn't matter...

What do you guys think of the actual movie?

From what I've seen in trailers and reviews and what nots, the person who plays Emily Rose is uncannily convincing, right?

I don't know if you've read a book called "Good Omens", if not, do so. It's a cracking read. It's by Terry Pratchett and Nail Gaimen and is basically about angels versus demons and the apocalypse. The reason I've commented on it with your quote is because of the bit "the majority of humans sin anyways" and a bit more. One of the things the demon in it says is that humans have imagination which makes them more dangerous than any demon. They've done things they haven't even thought off. He actually sent a memo down to Hell with a couple of instuction manuals that said: "Learn guys".

i dont believe in god/heaven/hell/demons.. i think all that exorcism stuff is fake.. its like hypnotism and getting in2 peoples sub-concious memories of what they've wanted to say for ages and just let it out in one go.. like good&evill..
