Yeah, XP is the one that has the most shit open. So the avarage is like 15 for people that take care of their comp. Go to Run/msconfig/Startup(tab) and chk what shit starts up when windows starts up. I bet it takes like 1-2 minutes for windows to fully load?

I cant fully format because I this computer came with windows ME preinstalled (no cd, damn HP!), so I bought the upgrade version of xp. So... if I format I cant install xp without reinserting ME (which comes with the HP format cd) and is full of hp and shit hidden everywhere.

I've got 25 processes and it takes no time to boot, and anything above is just fine, it depends what you have running, some programs take more than one process to run, and there are usually 10 windows processes that need to be ran for windows to run. I've got 15 processes, virus scanner, firewall, aol, aim, lots of other programs.
