I have enclosed some screenshots of my game.I will now tell you about the
features in the game.

1.Fully designed maps with wildlife.
2.Over 600 monsters.(Still more coming)
3.Multiple blacksmiths that you can use to create your own weapons from
aquirable items such as iron ore and dragon scales.
4.Over 70 raw materials used to make items.
5.0ver 700 items.
6.16 fully functional towns. Each with their own economy.(Still making more)
7.The ability to buy materials and sell them for profit in other towns.
8.12 fully completed dungeons. Most averaging about an hour to beat.
9.One dungeon with 32 levels to it.(Average time to beat is around 3 hours)
10.Over 30 cutscenes with full storyline.
11.Custom weather patterns for the different continents.
12.Instead of 1 world map, there is 8 so far. Each world map has a different theme and represents 1 of the continents.

Proposed additions.

1.More optional quests.
2.Horse racing game.(Still working on whether it's possible.)
3.Food making skill(Allowing you to make medicines and such out of some of the raw materials.
4.Different storypaths.(different events based on who you helped and who you didn't.)
5.Good and bad alignment.(different reactions from people based on whether you have done good or bad things.)
6.Hunting minigame.(Since I have so many animals in my maps I thought it would be nice if you could hunt them for the raw materials needed to create
the items refferred to in #3.)

Any other ideas you have would be much welcomed.
Also please feel free to comment on any of the ideas or screenshots.
I will also be posting more screenshots as I go along testing the game.'

Since it apparently stars Alex (or an Alex look-alike) I have no choice but to download it when it's finished.

I thought about using custom characters. The reason I decided against it is because I wanted to give my game a real snes vintage feel to it.Also I feel the snes rpgs we all grew up with never contained the depth I desired.

Lol... What sort of depth are you looking for?

Or did you simply never play FF4, FF6, or Chrono Trigger? (never forgetting the Breath of Fire series, Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Earthbound, Illusion of Gaia, Legend of Zelda, 7th Saga, and Super Mario RPG of course)

Those games could all be beaten in 30-40 hours or less your first time.I am talking about a game with 150-200 game hours. It wasn't possible on the old snes to have those kind of games. Then think about this.Would you have rather played a game
30-40 hours long when you could have played the same caliber of game that was 200 hours or so long.Personally I would choose the latter because I like long games and I have all the time in the world.

200 hours of game time of the same caliber as Chrono Trigger and FF6? Just how much of this game have you developed so far?

I have developed around 25-30 hours so far.I have put about 300 hours into my game so far.My estimated time of completure is early 2005.It is not hard to make games with the same caliber as the ones listed above. It is however very time consuming.

Sounds neat, like Tyrannicide said, are you going to be looking for Beta Testers? Also, what are you using to make this game?

Edit: Forget my last question, didn't see the name of this section of the forum.

I am using rpg maker 2003 if that's what you mean. The charsets in my game are comprised of almost everything you can find on the internet. The chipsets are the same but with them I tried to use the different styles for the different continents. For example continent 1 is made using mostly final fantasy chipsets. While continent 2 is made mostly of breath of fire chips. Then continent 3 is made mostly of Seiken densetsu chips. So you can see the varied expereinces place to place. I will probably need some help testing very soon.Right now I am working on experience charts and monster difficulties.I have also been very busy trying to get my graphical horse racing mini-game to work.

P.S. I will post more screenshots tonight.

P.S.S I could use more ideas and sample coding for more mini-games if you're interested.

Sounds impressive, but still very, VERY ambitious in terms of aiming for early 2005. Spending an average of 10 hours to develop every hour of the game is not a lot, when compared to the amount of cutscenes FF6 and CT have. I personally spent around 40 hours to design the areas and cutscenes for my game alone, and it could be beat in roughly 20 minutes.

I'll agree that cutscenes do take alot of time to make.that is why most of my gameplay time is in actual play.My dungeons are enormous in size. The dungeons being the only real way for you to acquire what you need to progress your character.
The stores in my game only sell basic weapons whereas the dungeons contain many important items that you will definitely need if you intend to conquer the harder and longer dungeons. Also the dungeons are not just walk, kill, move blocks.Certain monsters must be defeaten to acquire items used to make medicine and forge. Also most of my dungeons have nearly 40 kinds of totally different monsters. This alone makes for alot of game time if you want to explore all the routes you can go.On the other hand these dungeons are completely optional as are most of my side quests and mini-games.
