Holy fucking shit, I just wrote out the longest fucking reply and when I hit backspace, the Alt key must have be stuck or something, because the page refreshed one page back and I lost it all... I will try to get the jist of it all down now.
Negative comments are different from flames. If someone posts constructive criticism, even if it sounds like a flame, it is fine. The problem occurs with simple name calling and cursing that have no point, other than to degrade someone without intent to improve upon anything.
More Moderation is needed, not only to alleviate Sovereign of his duties, but just because Mods aren't doing enough as of now. There is a new system being talked about right now, but much still needs to be ironed out. I don't know if it will even work, but we will see.
There was a big discrepancy with what should be Edited. Simple enough, the Staff are now aware that only advertising posts should be Edited. Everything else should be Split and Moved to the Trashcan. Mods are now going to PM a member if they think a specific topic isn't deemed appropriate. Then, if it is done again, action will be taken.
There are no swearing rules. Swear the fuck away for all I fucking care.
More consistency will be used when Moderating from now on.
More warnings will be administered. Remember, with User Notes, a members history is accessible, and some rule offenses could be grounds for an "insta-ban", as you called it.
Threads are only to be Closed when they go too far Off-topic or their purpose has been served. Others will just be moved to the Chat Forum if they suck, or if the Mod so pleases, to the Trashcan.
Good or possibly good threads are always to be kept around and clean, if possible. If a thread gets so contaminated, it is up the Mod whether or not they want to go through the effort to Split out the crap and keep it open, or to just Trash, Move, or Close it.
