Well, only comes every 4 years.

Let's see, the Olympics, Presidential Election are really the only other things that happen every 4 years, cool beans!

World Cup? UEFA European Football Championship? DRUPA?

I hope no-one was proposed to by a woman, and turned it down today! A law used to exist in Scotland that if you refused a proposal from a woman on the 29th February, you could face a fine, which could have been anything from a kiss, to buying the woman a new pair of silk gloves or a sdilk dress. One of the many strange traditions of 29th February.

One other: according to English law, February 29th was ignored and had no legal status. So a crime on the day is no crime at all.

And here's a strange fact: The longest time between two leap years is 8 years. Last time was between 1896 and 1904. The next time will be between 2096 and 2104. This is because a set of rules decide which years are leap years:

- Every year divisible by 4 is a leap year.
- But every year divisible by 100 is not a leap year
- Unless the year is also divisible by 400, then it is still a leap year.

This means that years 1800, 1900, 2100, 2200, 2300 and 2500 are not leap years, while year 2000 and 2400 are leap years.

---

So yeah, Happy Extra Day!

w00t. you should get married on this day, that way you'd only have to remember your aniversary every 4 years.

why did I say that? i need more friends that are girls, and less that are guys.....
When my time comes, I want to be burried face down. That way, anyone that doesn't like me, can kiss my ass!
