I read Sen's post about finding uni charm doing Meph runs, so I decided I would do some. I got on and realized I had transferred most of my good gear from my cold sorc (level 72) to my fire sorc that I was making (low level) so I was going to transfer it back.

Nobody on friends list was on, so I made a game. I let it sit for 5 minutes (which is what it takes right?). Then I left the game, switched characters and joined it again within like... 5 seconds. At least I planned on joining it. "Game does not exist."

So I lost my +2 cold skills, +life, etc helm, my 2 +30 cold res grand charms, +30 lit res grand charm, dual res 18 gloves with mf, dual 26 res boots with mf and dual 25+ res belt with +life.

To top it off, I went ahead and made a new game anyhow and opened my stash.... Wtf? My Que Hegans with +15 Res All jewel is gone. I never took it out of stash. I checked both other ladder chars and nothing...

Anyhow, unless somebody wants to donate me some gear ( I got spirit shroud from a friend and kept my 3ptopaz helm +2coldskill orb and +2coldskill ammy. I also have some small cold res gloves.) I'll simply distribute my items to those who are needy and quit D2 untill the next ladder season starts, and everybody will have to start over.

Also, I got a 3/3 dual leech ring with 116AR and some other mods that I could give for stuff since I don't play my barb.

I'm no longer sure if it's just 5 minutes...sometimes it says "game does not exist" for me if I only left it for 5. So... I usually leave the game for 10+ minutes (basically I'll just go afk) now, to be on the safe side. But most of the time I 'll use 2 comps.

It is only 5 minutes or maybe 5 1/2 because i always mule and wait in the game for 6 minutes and its never closed. Sometimes i wait 5 1/2 and its still opened so im not sure what the deal is.. wish i could help but im just to low lvl and dont have anything for myself yet must less to distribute sorry

No its 5 minutes for sure I timed it and it's exactly 5 minutes you have to stay in a game.

the exact same thing happened to me. A friend and i were xfering..then connection interrupted..and i couldn't join any other games..had to reboot diablo 2...yes..i did wait longer than 5 mins..but the game was gone..both my friend and i were booted..lost all my shit too..at one point i even e-mailed b.net demanding them to rollback my chr...unfortunately, they just sent a "violin-playing" letter

Connection Interrupted is a different story though.
