Will Wright's Spore
Reply
Posted 2005-05-27, 01:37 PM
All the various concept presentations that have been shown by Wright are apparently now revealed to be all one game. Spore is a game about evolution (kind of) with a fully procedural engine (everything is generated by algorithms). This is looking to be one of the most innovative games in a long time and it is definitely at the top of my most anticipated list. It may look silly at first, but it just keeps getting better and better. To view the Game Developer's Conference presentation (about 50 minutes if you skip the intro), just go to http://www.pqhp.com/cmp/gdctv/ , click "Play Video", and enter a bunch of random shit for the registration. It doesn't even have to be a valid email address. Prepare to be blown away.

That's funky, but I can see becoming jaded with it quickly..

Nevermind, I've seen up to the "city" part now.. wow..

At the space level now... ugh... uh... *head explodes*

Yeah, seriously...

This is just awesome, I'm speechless. Best demo I've ever seen, this beats the hell out of anything i've seen from E3.

I watched it up until he started talking about care-bears for about 10 minutes. I got bored of him.

The game looks pretty cool from what I saw though. Reminds me of EVO: Search for Eden but more in depth.

E.V.O. was one of the pwnest games ever.

I'll check this out as soon as I get off work. The man won't let me watch it here. Bastard...
