Facebook now shares what you buy on certain sites

NEW YORK (AP) — Some users of the online hangout Facebook are complaining that its two-week-old marketing program is publicizing their purchases for friends to see. Those users say they never noticed a small box that appears on a corner of their Web browsers following transactions at Fandango, Overstock and other online retailers. The box alerts users that information is about to be shared with Facebook unless they click on "No Thanks." It disappears after about 20 seconds, after which consent is assumed.

Basically, don't stay logged into Facebook if you don't want people to know what you're purchasing.

Facebook has been going downhill in my opinion ever since it started allowing non-collegiates to register.

Consent is assumed after 20 seconds? If anything, they should assume after 20 seconds you don't want it to be showed. That's dumb.

98% of my friends on Myspace I know in real life. It's actually a good, effective way of keeping in contact with people you don't normally talk to.

Say, for instance, you meet this girl at a party, you two hit it off.. give each other your numbers, etc. The next day you find her on myspace. I'd rather send her a message over myspace than call her because I barely know her. That's actually how me and my ex girlfriend hooked up. We met at a party and started talking on myspace.

Why the fuck anybody would think that was a good idea is beyond me.

I suspect that decision was made under the influence of copious amounts of pot.
