Shutdown = Restart
Reply

This is mainly for Zhenya/WW
So whenever my mom tries to pick the shut down computer option from windows XP pro ( All hotfixes + SP 1) the computer just restarts and she has to do a hard shutdown in order to shut it down. Not sure what is causing this. I was thinking the powersupply isnt losing power or the mobo is retaining too much power and instead of turning it all off it just cycles the power. Well any help would be nice.

After hours of extensive research, I've come up with one solution: Buy a new computer.

Get SP 2 asap. But the restarting shit, hmm. Hard shut down and boot up in Safe Mode and than from there try to shut down. Usually it fixes stuff like that for me.

Nope not the reason. It had happened first time I fired it up. I put the wires in correctly also. So thats not why. And I remotely run avg and spybot on it every day.
