I haven't been in a vehicle for seven weeks, nor have I seen a petrol station for seven weeks, so I'm using a website which tells me the national averages, and local ones based on postcodes.

My local (back home) petrol stations are selling unleaded at prices between 90.9p and 96.9p, and the national average is around 94p (about $5.25). I'm stunned! And a bit miffed - I wanted to see the prices drop below the pound mark.

Quite interesting to look at the conversion rates again. Either the pound has nosedived, or the dollar has strengthened, as £1 is now eqivalent to $1.4762.

Low prices are bad! We need incentive to switch to alternative fuel sources!

Monopole magnets? Radiation pressure propulsion or resonant cavity drive (Emdrive) would be pretty nice if it could become convenient not only for micropropulsion, although I'll probably invest in antimatter stock when the time comes.

On topic: $4.71/U.S. gallon. The value of the USD has increased by close to 37% (compared to the Swedish krona) in the past few months. Interesting.

Daily commute distances can't be much different in both countries, or are you trying to say that Americans drive a couple of hundred miles to work each morning?
