Midi Problems
Reply

My computer won't play MIDI files...Everytime I try to play them, it shows the bar moving (as if the file was playing), but no sound is coming out. MP3s play fine (so I know it's not my speakers), and when I go to my volume settings, there is no way to change the MIDI volume/mute it. I have no idea where to start in fixing this problem. Lil' help? : (

Will give more information as needed.

Do you have a seperate sound card that is not directly in your motherboard? There might be something messed up with settings on a sound card or something.

Who the fuck plays MIDI files anyway... but I think if you're playing them using "Windows Media Player" it won't work most of the time, try using the regular "Accessories>Entertainment>" Sound Recorder.

Sound Recorder doesn't play MIDI files.

First, make sure that the MIDI volume control isn't just hidden. From the Sound Volume app, go to the Options|Properties menu, and check everything in the list. If there's still no MIDI volume, then I'm going to guess you're SOL.
