Hey... I'm catching up.

I'm upgrading to XP. Yes, on my same shitty machine. I need it to run a certain USB Flash drive I just bought. Meow. Do you think this is a smart move?

(I'm using a helluva lotta CD's for my files.)

Actaully, the real reason was that my internet gave out and no matter what I try I can't get it working. Ah well, I've been on a no-porn-all-church basis for the past... month. That's why my account has suffered from a bad fall in activity, I don't have my own computer to Zelaronize myself on.

Inspiron 3800

256 mb ram
9 gig hard drive
some RAGEXMOBILITY graphics card... It says 8m of memory, type: SDram

And other shitty shit shits not worth mentioning. Basically, it was good in 2000.

I'm looking forward to the bubbly wubbly interface =D

Edit:
Okay, I forgot to mention it has no battery(it's a laptop) and the one 1.0 USB port is broken halfway, as a mouse works, but a game controller doesn't. I use a pcmcia card for two 2.0 high speed USB ports... Only problem is, I have 2 pcmcia ports...

I prefer 98 over Xp. XP prevents you from messing with your system, but... I need to change or it's 32(16 after mail-in-rebate!) dollar loss.

I'd say you really need to upgrade the HDD first. The XP files take up a few gigs of space - so you'll only have about 6 left once you've installed it.

More of both... in fact, why bother upgrading and upgrading and upgrading the same thing?

It'll be much easier to just buy a new one - especially with so many things wrong with the Laptop. No?

Wouldn't you prefer Windows 2000 over 98?

It's more stable.

I'm getting a DESKTOP later this year. I just need something with internet between now and then. By the way, the second RAM port is broken and randomly restarts the laptop when occupied. I took all my important bits off the machine and am installing XP. I'll tell you how it turns out. =O The roflcopters are here!
