try manually installing it, taking files right off cd and putting them where theyre supposed to go... done that with a few diff games before cus my old motherboard was locking up my system whenever i installed something from cd

Never used my CD to play, neither used a no-cd.

Make an image of your LOD CD on your HDD.
Use Daemon to 'mount' the image (it's a virtual CD-Rom drive)
Play with it !

i know exactly why
when you burn it
make sure you name it correctly...lol
i know this kuz i lost my install cd
and i had to bum all the files from people over the internet
and i eventually got the whole thing
then burned it
didnt work
made like 50 more copies
then tried to make one with the name Install
and it worked...try naming it EXPANSION
Congradulations George W. Bush!! you Defeated Afghanistan!! You recieve 5,263,772 exp. and a Mythril Plate Mail!!

The problem is that when you burn the cd you have to make an EXACT DUPLICATE of the original. Neither Nero or Easy CD creator can do that. Also, your burner has to be able to write in RAW mode. Given the above info. The type of program you need to get is a raw burner software such as CloneCD from elby CloneCD 4 and i'm sure you can find a valid key, keygen, or crack for this program on just about any p2p software (aka Morpheus). But if your burner can't write in RAW mode (mostly older burners) either buy a new one, find a friend, or forget about it. But don't think that by making a duplicate cd that you can use the diablo key twice on b.net, cause its not gonna happen.

Good Luck.

Go buy the game again... you won't find a CD-Key on the net that works on battle.net, and if you somehow do, chances are that CD-Key will be in use by many many others quite frequently... so, buy it...

I don't guess anyone ever thinks about checking for copy protection. Diablo II uses SecuROM v2. That may have been your original problem.

Well it shouldn't have worked with an lod cd, given the copyright protection on it.
