Battle! Mario vs. Mega Man X

In the Red Corner, measuring in at 5 feet, 2 inches. Armed with Fire Flowers, FLUDD the Water Pack, Super Jumping abilities and the hippest mustache this side of Tom Selleck! The Italian Pipe-Cleaner, The Koopa Crusher, The Short-Stacked Hero of The Mushroom Kingdom: Mario!!

And in the Blue Corner, weighing in at approximately half a metric ton. Armed with the Mega Buster Arm Cannon including a massive cache of weapon types, Super Dash Boots and the coolest bubble helmet since that little green thing on The Flinstones! The Blue Bomber himself: Mega Man X!

Who will be victorious? Who will stand above his beaten foe 24 hours from now? It's all up to you!!

Ready? Fight!

The way I see it... it starts out with Mario getting lucky with a shroom and growing five times his size... only to get nailed in the balls by a buster shot, shrinking his rich ass back to his feeble size. Mario then attempts to hop on Mega Man's head only to get nailed by the buster shot causing him to backflip violently and slam into the ground. Mario retaliates with a quick fireball as he srings up into the air, suddenly donning the Raccoon suit and flops around in the air as his fireball is obliterated by another buster shot. A third shot from Mega Man burns up Mario's suit and causes him to plummet 50 feet to the ground below. Of course, since Mario experiences no fall damage, he lands on his feet only to have his knee blown out by a charge blast from the Blue Bomber. Mega Man towers over him as he taps down, down-forward, forward, Y and blasts Mario away with a Hadoken.
Enough said.

Mario has very little ranged fighting ability. All Megaman has to do is stand at a distance and shoot.

So, in an actual fight, Mario would lose.

Not really, it all has to do w/ speed if Mario was fast enough he could doge the buster shots and that other shit. Don't you watch DBZ or play Smash Bros? It ALWAYS about the speed, if your quick enough it doesn't matter how powerful the enemy is, you can get the another way. But Mega Man would win, he can do so much more, and he has so many more attacks. Think off all the enemys skillz he's jacked. PWN

Unless, of course, Mario has a Takooni suit. Then he would totally Down+B on Mega Man's ass.

But then Megan Man would roll out of the way, grap him while he's still stoned and toss him off a cliff.
*That is what a Takooni suit is right? The one from Super Mario World3?

If you've ever played the Mega Man X series, you should know how fast X is. His attacks are immensely powerful, and as previously stated, they're ranged. Pushing a Koopa shell towards X won't help due to his protective armour.

Mario would get his ass handed to him in no time at all.

Well i thnk it would go that way

Megaman would start to charge his buster shot while mario would run toward megaman throwing fireball to keep megaman from standing still giving him less time to stop and aim. Megaman would try to shoot at mario but he wouldnt be able to aim good because of all the fireball he has to dodge once mario get close he would use his waterpack on megaman preventing him to see so megaman only option would be jumping out of the way ! And thats when mario will jump and use is tick head to crush megaman in the air !

Megaman X can do Air Dash, Dash-Jump, Double Jump, kick Jump from Wall (infinite). That should give X an advantage in dodging Mario's attack.

Assuming that Mario's fireballs are indestructible, X will have to dodge them. But X can fire rapidly while he's dodging all his attack. (That's what happened in X4, when X fought Magma Dragoon. )

X also has armor, and Mario has......er?

(Can't use items during the fight, right?
And X doesn't have access to any of the sub-weapon or capsule?)

Mario gets his missile thing which he used to beat the mechanical Bouser from Mario: Sunshine. He uses FLUDD to launch himself into the air and fires the missiles. He does this for a while and eventually Mega Man figures out Mario's pattern and POW! MEGA BUSTER ARM! KO!!!

Well, this battle has remained pretty inactive since this afternoon. Shinto and I have already (independently of one another) made our decisions, and the outcome has garnered the win for one of our contestants! Check the Bracket Thread for the outcome!
