Last Saturday i was just playing Diablo on uswest as always.... and i got d/c from the internet and i couldn't get back on.... errors kept popping up...
i restarted my comp and then when i tried to get back on the internet i got a system shutdown message.... its been doing this since saturday afternoon plz tell me what to do i miss my hammerdin
I have some worm or shit on my comp that causes an lsass.exe error. System shutdown. Until you get it fixed, i recommend going to your run menu and typing "shutdown -a" to manually abort the shutdown. (without quotes)
Also, this is being moved into the help forum. It is more a computer issue then a diablo II issue.
Neg. Just like the old Blaster/Lovsan virus, it's spread over the internet. An infected computer (starting with the originator), sends out commands to another computer based on a random IP address. If you don't have the security patch from Microsoft (Windows Update, one of the critical updates and security patches), and this hits your IP address (and you don't have a firewall), you'll get the virus.
No emails to open. No programs to download. No webpage to visit. It just hits you if you don't have Windows up-to-date with Security patches.
If you guys have any questions about this, post away and I'll answer them as I read them. Part of what I do at work is to research all new viruses and make sure all our computers here are okay.
yeah I got that damn thing a couple of days ago damnit, mcAfee message popped up and my mom computer noob as she is started freaking out and all, lol. It didnt really do any damage to me other than threw me out of a game of sof2 but yeah just install those patches and u should be fine (hopefully )

whew its good knowing someone like you is in these forums. Luckily I didn't get the virus but downloaded all the critical updates.
Thanks for the advice and I hope you continue to share what you can about viruses
Download a virus protection tool like mcafee or norton, and scan your hd. It'll find it, then u can delete it. Then to stop it from coming back, get the patch for it.
