Is bnet ran from a single computer or more than one?

uhh u realize b.net is just the people who own it, AT&T run the servers. also AT&T like donated 5 servers to b.net to run so im guessing its prolly around 5-8 bout now. hard to tell cause there are prolly bout 40 different IP's you can connect to so it all depends on the size of the servers/computers.
one of these days im gona get up and scream "stop being stupid!" then everything would be alirght. For seriously.

Well what if you flooded all of the ports that bnet runs through, would that crash all of battlenet or would it just let you be able to get into bnet undetected?

If you mean when B.Net overfloaded that would happen...

bad connection
bad ping
bad playing
long queues

I think some R/D and of course bugged games.

well if u just install a trojan on the b.net servers and have some fun . spector first the AT&T servers have protection from some kinds of DOS the only one they arent protected from is i think 95 (long story) anyway if u were to commence a DOS attack on all the servers or most of the servers with a shitload of windows 95 computers each doing dos (itd require close to 10-12,000) but yet u could do a full system malfunction and crash the servers. if u were unsucsesful itd just lag the servers like hell. also the only way to do this without people knowing what they were doing would be to make a macro virus and send it to a whole bunch of people then have the macro open up like 100000 dos windows and start dos'ing a site. MMMmmm the possibilities...
