Not only did he use his acolytes to fight with (he actually sent them to the enemy's base), but he attacked my hero then acted like he thought it was the enemy hero..

Im pretty sure blizzard said you need a working cdkey for both wc3:roc and wc3:tft for tft to be able to get on battle.net

Yes you need a CD key for WC3 and Frozen Throne, That's why its an expansion and not a patch.
