I know I should be the last person to suggest something like this but has anyone thought of a rating system. So we could know whos the most popular and stuff liek in highschool! No not really gay like that but something where you could give people a little +1 something for a good post/thread. I would suggest against giving out negative points because it could get out of hand, or atleast put some restrictions on it. Or even put restriction on plus points so they actually have some value. Eh! Ehhh..!

Then again our communitiy doesn't really seem big enough for that.

This kind of thing was suggested years ago, literally. Once we decided to get serious about it and start figuring out details, a complete onslaught of obstacles and bullshit problems came up. It's simply not possible, and the main problem is bias.

The forum has a system like that built in, but I'm not a fan. At one point, I was going to implement an "Award" system for use with a shop hack where you could pay to design awards and tag people with them (yes, this was my answer to "Grav's stamp of approval"), but there just weren't any good shop hacks.

Give each mod their own stamp of approval. That way they can come to regret it when they see what they support later on. Bahah.

What happened to that ancient gold/RPG hack we used back in the vB2 days anyway? The PvP duel system was kind of neat, although I'm sure we could write a better one with enough patience. Something along the lines of Mercurial I guess.

If it wasn't such a hassle to rewrite the game into allowing multiplayer duel, I would really love to do so. It could use some new graphics too, but that part I should be able to take care of by now. I guess it all depends on how much spare time some of our more proficient programmers like WetWired have.

What about those friends of yours who have so much fun with iPods and server programs?

They might be happy for more random things to do.
