I've seeded over 10GB in a day by accidentally leaving a torrent for a recently released TV show running. I've seeded over 200GB in a week by leaving an episode of another TV show seeding for 9 days while I was out of town.

Yah, yesterday I downloaded 1.45 gigs and seeded 12 gigs. And then if you factor in the livestream of NBC's olympic broadcast I had running, the time spent listening to last.fm, and whatever small amounts of bandwith were used by my Xbox when I was playing a game with some friends, it's not all that unfathomable that I could surpass the 250GB threshold. The main factor that gets me close to that cap is seeding. I've had to shut down utorrent in the past because I was over 240GB with several days left in the month.

So yeah, for any person who isn't seeding a torrent, 250 is a absurdly high amount.

Maybe, but for me the unacceptable part about the policy was that they used to cut off your internet entirely if you exceeded the cap twice in 6 months. No service for a YEAR. Not good if you live in an area where Comcast is your only option, or even the only good one. Another thing I don't like about the cap is that watching Xfinity(Comcast's TV service) on your computer or Xbox doesn't count against the cap, but Netflix, Hulu, and other competing services do. Net neutrality much?

That's dumb! Then again, sounds exactly like Comcast to me. Is there a way to check how much you've used?

There is, if you log into your account on the comcast website and actively look for it. They don't do any sort of email warnings or anything once you get close to the cap.

Speaking of current usage, thank god they've suspended enforcement of the cap. It's the 6th day of the month and I've already used 96GB

That's kind of insane. I'm gonna try to check on mine but I know it is nowhere near that.
