As many of you may know, Rugby has made a great impact on my life and many others around me. It effects my everyday life and makes me who I am today. Whether you know or not, there is a movie coming out(Forever Strong) in just TWO DAYS! If you go to the link above, you will find a trailer of the film. Being connected with various Rugby organizations including the US Rugby Foundation, I was sent a very unfortunate email today, and I will copy/paste it to the bottom of this post
(this post will not make sense unless you read the e-mail). Rugby is not a very common sport, but it is however making a rise in America. To me, and anybody else connected with rugby, or anybody who loves the sport or even just likes the sport, this a very exciting thought. This could potentially be one of the best things to happen to Rugby in America. The movie could set off a HUGE interest in the sport, therefore leading to more clubs, more high school teams, and in the long run(my biggest hope for the sport), more and more colleges will give Scholarships for rugby(there are only a select few that do, sadly.)
Rugby in the past has had a terrible history, when people think about rugby(in a lot of cases), they think of people getting drunk and high and running around with a ball. Sadly, many Rugby Clubs are still like this today. I promote a positive image for rugby any chance I get, striving to offset the negative image it has received. The rugby movie Forever Strong is about to hit select theaters in the United States on Friday. This movie is a huge step forward in creating awareness for rugby in America and so far, we have received an overwhelmingly positive response. But this week, we have a HUGE challenge before us. The studios in Hollywood have threatened to pull this film nationally after one week if we don't have a GREAT opening weekend. They don't believe that rugby has a big enough audience to make this film profitable. Your help is very much wanted and needed.
This is our call to action: PLEASE continue to support this movie by ATTENDING THIS WEEKEND (September 26-28). Take friends. Blog about it. Plan a group activity with your team or school. If we do well this weekend we will be expanding the release into more theaters in more parts of the country. Help us bring this film to more markets, and make it a success.

So, this is my challenge to the community that I have spent a third of my better years at. (Speaking about Zelaron, of course). Go out to the theater near you that Forever Strong is screening at. Take friends, take a whole
fucking posse if you want, and watch the movie. I'll beg if I have to. It is so crucial that Rugby becomes a 'real sport' in America, and to be completely honest, my future could depend on it.
