Concept Art

I'm working on my "future career" before I actually start college in the spring. I'm gonna post what becomes of my adventures into concept art and 3D modeling.

First, my M4 concept art. Not exact. Not perfect, but I'm actually going to evolve the design over one hundred years, so it doesn't need to be perfect, detail wise. Just proportional.

I started off with a silhouette based off of this design:

After that, I used a burn and dodge tool to add shadow and highlight. Based on the instruction of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVcgo...eature=related

To which the end product is:

I present, with minimal changes, the M438A.

A little info on the name. M438A, obviously based on the original M4 model but fires a high-energy density, triple-base, Nitroglycerin, .38 round. Also, it's the Assault version of the model.

It has a reflex sight, rotatable fore-grip and an extended chamber for recoil and noise reduction.

Currently working on the M438LR, a long range rifle with a powerful, video scope. It's going to use a electron-plate with a reflection-proof plastic film to prevent flare's.

When are you going to make a side arm version?

By the way, looks awesome!

I can't decide which pistol I should evolve.

I'm thinking of a Sig Sauer p228:

Or a FNH FiveSeven:

I think you should go with the Five-seveN, because it looks cleaner. It has a futuristic, almost transformer-ish look to it, that still allows it to be viewed as a weapon that can possibly do more damage than believed at first glance.

The Sig Sauer p228 looks to be too "street", if you know what I mean. Kind of like the Hyndai of guns... cheap, overly mass produced, and damn near gives your eyes cancer from staring in its general direction. The Five-seveN on the other hand looks more like the Corvette/Viper of guns. Tons of power and is a beauty to behold.

Hmm. I'll give it some thought. Seems reasonable.

Only the left foot looks a tad off... the other one looks alright to me. Perhaps if you shifted the left foot up a little, not make the "ankle" area so long in that perspective... maybe about half way up the "ankle" area...

Other than that, lookin' good bro! Love the mask. Is it a snow combat specialist?
