this. That's what I started with. Regular earrings are like 18-20 gauge pegs. 12's didn't even hurt when I put them in. In two weeks i've gone from 12-2 with no bleeding and only a slight bit of pain maybe for an hour from 6-4, and that's because I only waited one day.
