Window skins menu
Reply

Hi again guys, i got a lot of cool windowskins, and i want to make a menu inside the menu window, that can let you choose the skins at anytime you want in the game, how can i do that? please help me
Example:

Menu:

Object
skill
equipment
status
Options (or something like that, inside here can go the skins selection)
save
quit

btw, maybe this other question was already answered, but how can i change the image of the character in menus, so that it shows a picture (maybe a face) instead of the character?

Thanks guys, see ya

Well, you could make it an item that brings up a custom menu and lets you select them.

It would be easy, since the event would bring up a menu(pictures or text or however you want it) and when a person selects a certain skin, you use the change skin setting with the one selected and end with and else case if they decide to cancel.

Skin is not the right term though.

THanks, you mean creating an event, so that when i click on it, show some message and selections to choose the windowskin? thats a good idea but what could i do if i want a menu to be inside the normal menu, i mean, make a submenu there for options, including the windowskins and some others miscellaneous things

In RM2K(and 3) this is not possible as far as I know. So as of now the event is your best bet.

You could make your own custom menu from scratch...lol but that'd be a lot of work.

Good luck.

IN RM2K and 3? im using xp, is there a way i can do it here?:P lol, if not, youre right, the event option works cool, maybe ill put a book or something in each town's inn xD

And what can i do with the face thing (second question), can i change something in one of the scripts so that the menus show the character face, and the status menu show the character battlechar instead of just the character sprite?

See ya!

Oh, in XP you could program it to make a nice cup of tea during a 10 minute long cutscene if you really wanted. It's all down to the scripts.

Yes, that is the one issue we always come across when people ask for help, which version they are using.

It really helps to know, but I didnt get into RMXP, I sorta stopped using them all togther when it came out. So all my knowledge is based off of RM2K and 2K3.
