Another series of free-ness that is available on XBOX Live.
This is actually a series, and is already on the second season. It follows the lives of people who are part of an online guild, but you don't see ANY game footage AT ALL! The main character is a girl whose screen name is "Codex", and it opens with a 'video diary' type thing where she is talking to her webcam, and she describes what happened in the previous episode, which is approximately equal to one day. The main perspective is of these individuals computer monitors, as they stare at them the whole time, but it does venture into other areas from time to time. One instance is when one character believes him and "Codex" are meant to be, so he rushes to her house at the first sign of trouble, which happens to be "Codex" on the phone with a therapist, trying to get her to be more social, in the real world.
So, this character, "Zaboo", ends up moving himself into "Codex"s house under the belief that a simple "
" smilie was a flirting moment. So, to help her rid herself of this wierdo, she decides that the guild should meet in real life, at a parady place of Chuck E. Cheese's. But, at the same time, another guild member "Bladezz" is harassing another guild, and they decide that the reason for the meeting would be to discuss his punishment.
By the end of the first season, "Zaboo"s mother tries to get him to return home with her, and she still treats him as though he was 12. So they "fight" her off, and win, but now "Codex" is stuck with "Zaboo". Luckily, she finds that the Guild Master will accept "Zaboo" as a roomate, if only for the fact that the rent he pays will supply his internet so he can stay connected to the guild.
It is free, so you can download all the episodes, watch them, then delete them without much thought, or worry that you paid for something you didn't like. After seeing it, I thought of this place and how similar it is. Just the way that they interact with each other, how they know each other so well online, but when they meet in real life, they don't know what to talk about... that's how I always thought our meet would end up...
