Fine. I'll dumb it down. "Skepticism is harmless as long as people know and let others know that they are being skeptical about something that is commonly believed as fact. On the other hand, if they exaggerate it wayyyyyy too much and say it's fact without much, or sometimes any real evidence then it isn't harmless anymore." If that helps you, great. My guess is it doesn't. I choose to use an elevated vocabulary in my posts because that is the most succinct way I can think of to unequivocally convey my point to the best of my abilities. I don't do it simply to be pedantic.

You're incorrect. I honestly can not impulsively think of a more succinct way to present my point with equal clarity as above that is not phrased the way that it is phrased above. Facts are facts no matter how they are presented. Clarity and succinctness, both virtues when posting, are, however, compromised. I'm a bit incredulous that I'm actually being patronized for trying to exemplify those two virtues.

That, and I've become so used to writing this way that this is natural now.
