GENEVA — Lamborghini introduced a lighter, faster and greener version of its successful Gallardo at the Geneva International Motor Show on Tuesday, as demand for cars with a smaller carbon tire print seep even into the supersports class.

The sleek Gallardo LP560-4 — low-slung and sleek as a bullet — weighs 44 pounds less than the previous model, and the revamped engine gives up only three-tenths of a second from zero to 62 mph, now 3.7 seconds.

...44 pounds? Seriously? That makes little difference against tons...

There really isn't anything "green" about this car.

Emmisions have been cut by 18%

I'd say that's a fucking good start.

The percentages don't mean much against the actual numbers.

Wait, I'm confused. You think the Lambo weighs tons? or tons of carbon?

18% of 1000lbs is 180lbs

the 44 is the car weight difference

The car weighs tons. So dropping 44 pounds, when compared to even one ton, is not much.

What the fuck are you talking about, this is about less carbon emissions. 18% they lowered them even if the car weighed the same or more this is still good.

From the article:

"The new Gallardo still emits 325 grams of CO2 for every kilometer, or just over half a mile, compared with an average of 150 to 200 grams in the same distance for a more typical car"

It still produces 50% more than what is necessary from a car, even with the 18% reduction. It's just a waste, IMO.

I just love how you omitted the very next sentence in that paragraph.

But Winkelmann said that is offset by the fact the average Lamborghini is driven just over 3,100 miles a year.
Of course it's a waste you fool. It costs almost a quarter million dollars. Go kill yourself.
