LoL, I saw some guy in tech support channel ask what the gem does and the blizz rep just said something like: "We cannot say exactly what the gem does, just that it has far exceeded our expectations."
That has been explained to. The gem does nothing. It was going to be the thing used to squelch people, but after the beta testing, they never did anything to it, so it does nothing. They never expected for people to cause such a fuss over it.
