Question Doom III Errors
Reply
Posted 2002-11-08, 11:58 AM
I was wondering if anyone else has had troubles or luck fixing problems running doom 3.

Currently I'm running DirectX 8.1 with up to date OpenGL drivers for an ATI Rage Mobility card..

Doom 3 still fails to load crashing out at about halfway thru initiation with what seems to be an open GL problem..

I've applied the multiple patches to update the loader and .cfg files yet to no avail.

Anyways.. I'll run a few tests and post the results to see if anyone can make heads or tails of it.. or if anyone is having similiar problems.

It tends NOT to run on a lot of computers for various reasons. I can't say I'm an expert at solving problems like this, but be aware of the fact that the game might be highly unplayable on your system due to the fact that your CPU is running at 631 mhz. However, most ATI cards should work perfectly fine, so your problem is a bit confusing. I'll get back to you if I can think of anything helpful.

Thanks for your insight, it seems the monster system requirements maybe a key issue.

On the ***** Network it is listed as a Windows XP application.

Has anyone had success running it on Windows 98 or other platforms?

I noticed whenever a monster approaches me in the game I take a huge framerate hit, (GeForce4 MX 440) Although Im picking up my shiny new Radeon 9700 Pro tomorow morning that should help things just a bit
