It matters not whether you win or lose; what matters is whether I win or lose.

That's why it's called an Athlon 3000, cause it competes with intel's 3.0 ghz. Intel is basically cheating to sell better, they have narrower pipelines allowing them to achieve bigger mhz numbers, but there's more to it than how many cycles it can do in a second.

Finally, something useful from Xenn.

Anyways, I don't see why people buy all these hyuper pumped up PC's...

I'm running:
2.24GHz OC'd AMD XP 2500
1024MB of PC-2700
Radeon 9700 Pro
Fractional T1 line (Dad's work pays for it.)

I can run everything that I want fine, and I don't see any reason to get better, I could mad OC my processor of I got a peltier though... It's an overclocking beast, the multiplier/FSB are unlocked w/ my mobo, so I can change them to what I want.

Of course my processor is out the fucking door when the San Diego processors come out. 64 bit processors own...

Apple made a good comparison about the computing power of a 32 bit vs a 64 bit processor. Imagine a 32 bit processor has the computing power about the size of a postcard. Well, a 64 bit processor has the computing power of Manhattan.

Dunno.. Windows 95 can't handle newer hardware, so you must have old stuff in it.

Oh, and don't buy the Athlon 64, sadly the Intel Prescott is gonna blow it away and then smoke a cig faster than you can recite the names of the richest kings of Old England.
