Designers vs. Programmers

So what would you rather be, a web designer (that is actually good; Flash included) or a web coder (not HTML, talking about PHP, Perl, Java, Javascript, CF, etc)?

I know most people here are designers, but maybe some of you would rather be able to code... oh and you can't have both!

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were talking about WEB designers/coders, your post title made me beleive that it was just "real" programmers versus real designers.

If it's about web design, coders can make a ton of more money than the designers, especially if they know how to do some heavy database integration.

A designer is like your Dad, he works and gets the money.
A programmer is like your mother, she takes care of you.

Without programmers, designers are nothing. Everyone who designs now uses WIZYWIG Editors, they don't get the full view point on everything.

You said it crusher. I find programming a lot more fun than really designing stuff.. hell anyone can do that.

Programmer has Brain
Designer has his basic human "lizard brain" (For those of you who don't know what a lizard brain is, well I suppose you're on the side of the designers than-lol, no really a "lizard brain" is like the basic human instict, think caveman.)

I like programming becuase i like fixing the errors. then i get to view my work. designing is fun to review over like programming, but you cant make it into a program to do cool things
