Full repairs on the server and anything going wrong will be done this weekend. Check the nannouncements forum for a post WW made about this subject.

Heh. Looks like almost every post I've made today has been edited by some random person, 10 days ago...

pwn.

Edit: Nah, looks like just 2 or 3.

That is weird, but just a glitch I'm sure.

It appears that the edit table escaped me when I was considering the data that needed to be pruned. Since only the post table was damaged, and there was trouble uploading the entire database, only the post table was replaced. This left orphaned threads and attachements, etc. I was able to easily remove the threads and polls based on their timestamp, but had not considered the edit log. My initial attempt at a more thorough cleaning was hindered by the massive number of conditions in my query (I basicly told it to find the IDs of all existing posts, and the IDs of the threads they were in, and to delete anything not using those IDs; this overloaded the query engine, apparently). Assuming similar usage patterns, phantom edits and attachements may appear for a week, and honestly, there's no safe way for me to handle that now that the forums are live again. I suppose I could have left them down and attempted to solve the problem instead, but due to server conditions and my desire for closure, I chose to take the actions I did to bring the forums up as soon as possible.
