I've enjoyed reading about some of the battles in which Gustavus Adolphus was a military commander on the Protestant side. He's certainly no Napoleon, Scipio, or Genghis Khan, but how can you not like someone who looks like (an arguably considerably less rotund version of) Baron Harkonnen?

Actually, there's another Adolph(us), also a Swedish monarch, who may have been a more suitable choice for an IRL version of the Baron:

Wikipedia said:
The king [Adolph Frederick] died on 12 February 1771 after having consumed a meal consisting of lobster, caviar, sauerkraut, kippers and champagne, which was topped off with 14 servings of his favourite dessert: semla served in a bowl of hot milk. He is thus remembered by Swedish school children as "the king who ate himself to death."

Mine is probably Ludwig II of Bavaria.

He managed to keep his title even after German unification and he built extremely interesting castles. Plus his death is still a fascinating subject as what really happened still remains to be unknown.

I forget which monarch it was, but I remember reading about a guy who was married eight times. I think he and Henry could have been pals.

I'm really not sure what the plural form of Louis would be, so I took it upon myself to make one.

"The standard bible on punctuation is "You have a point there" by Eric Partridge (Hamish Hamilton, 1953). On page 156 he describes the 8 situations where the apostrophe is used to indicate a plural. "Three Louis's" is one of them."

The problem with "Louises" is that it could also be the plural of "Louise." Ambiguity and such.

You have a point and I see it and I agree with it. I even went as far as to fix the previous statement to make it correct.

I can't find anything about a King Louis whose daughter was a prostitute. I did find that Louis XV did have a prostitute as a mistress though.
