Virtual Lan

Ok, I haven't done much research because I am about to leave. Figured I'd ask to see if anyone could save me the trouble by already knowing.

My friend's and I play Lan games all the time that we pirated, well usually one of us own it. We all don't want that game but would enjoy the lanning of it. Now my friend is at work and gets 2-3hrs of work for a 8hr day and has nothing to do. So when I am home it would be tight to play these games, but you need a key... so I was wondering if there was a way to make a Virtual Lan where you connect over the inet as if you were in a lan so we could still host/join lan games over the inet avoiding Key checks.
