ok when i play d2 most of the time i have the volume turn all the way down while im in a game and then i open media player and listen to music... but as soon as i exit that game i can hear the games music really loud in the background and it annoyies annoys me. i just wanted to know if the was any way to mute the entire games music without turning off my speaker. anything will be helpful... i really like my music while i play.

I've turned my game-music off myself. There's options in the Diablo option screen to mute/lower both game sounds as well as the background music. Typically I leave my game sounds on but turn off the music, though if you're playing a low key pvm game you probably could get away with turning off game sounds as well.

If I misread your post in that you mute the game music and then it spontaneously rises in volume again then I don't know what to do as I dont have that problem.

try adding -ns to your target line. But there is a switching acts bug that makes you crash if you are using D2Loader. It only does it though if you just completed that act for the first time.

Another method (correct me if im wrong) is to hit ctrl+m in the game. Never tried it, but i was told it works.
