Wink Easiest Switch Tutorial Ever

First of If you dont learn how to use switches from this then i dunno but its really really easy

Objective:
*Learn how to construct an easy switch
*Help the hero have his friend appear into the map with him

Recommendation:
*A good way to learn is enter the command as you read along=þ
and read thoroughly
*Thank god for your accomplishment and reward yourself
*Read any thing with a "*" before it

Items Used in this Tutorial:
3 Events
Start party event
Switch

Newbie Vocabulary:
Switch - A command hard to explain its kinda of an On and off switch
NPC - A non playable character
Catalyst - Somethin that changes somethin else or motivates it
such as helping it begin (its been four years so i just used it
how the general public in my school acknowledges it it may not be
accurate but close

Lets begin:
~Genesis~
1. Open RPG maker 2003 and if you have a game already open then close it
=p it should be at the top under file
2. Start a new project name the Directory "Tutorial" and the Game
Name "Switches"
3. Now press Ok
~Now for the fun part~
* Since its hard to explain of where to find this im gonna give you the
shortcut keys ok for the Lower, Upper, and Event Tiles.
4.Now right click on the green map icon and delete it
*Its not really needed at all cause its way to large of a map
5. Right click on the Yellow Map that was above the green one you just
deleted and create a new map
~Map Editor~
6. Unless you know what to do in here I suggest you keep everything the
same and just press ok
7. Ok now make a water fall flowing into a river; land surrounding it with a
bridge connecting the two bodies of land.
*Add nothing more, nothing less. if your that newbish and dont
understand how to add the tiles, i just suggest you play around
with placing tiles
~Now for the triggers (Events)~
-I refer events as triggers cause i made sc maps first
8. Now press F7
* you should see black grid lines now this is because you have access the
Event layer
-F7 allows you to access the event layer
9. lets see where were we... o yea go to the upper right area of the map
and double click somewhere
-A window should appear
-This will be a breeze beyond breezes
~Trigger Time~
-Lets see were almost done actually not that far to go and then home sweet home too hear you say... It was easy as eating pizza , why did you make it (shouldnt have asked)

Ÿ. Under Event name type "Catalyst"
å. after that make sure the event is at the same level as the hero
♪. Ok now make sure the trigger condition displays: Action Key
(if you have tooken Biology which i took four years ago you should know what it is and teachers wont stop using that word afterwards [kinda got stuck in my head])
*Commands(exactly as they appear):
~Placing Switches~
*Switch operations is located under tab one of the command screen
-after you click on switch operations a new screen should
ž. there should be a button you click on with shown as "..." click on that
and yet another screen will appear
Š. Ok now highlight "0005:" and under switch name type "TeleNPCinRoom"
and press ok
*0005:TeleNPCinROOM should appear in the pull down window across from
the Radio Button "Single Switch"
*TeleinNPCROOM stands for Teleport the npc into room, this is for you to understand not really a command or anything same with the any name its so you can understand),
-remeber were tryin to get his friend into the room using a switch

Make sure On is selected and press Ok and wait at the Catalyst screen until further directions.

11. Woot woot!!! 11!!!! ... why are you looking at me like that... ok fine back to the tutorial...now look at the command it should appear as
<>Switch Operations: [0005:TeleNPCinRoom] On
now add the next following Event commands ... kackavlakdle..... ...

ok i forgot to tell you to add the graphic. Click on the "set" button and highlight object 2, now select the Second one from the top it looks kinda like this --\-- make sure its facing down after all of that press ok

12. Doht!!! now were behind ok... these events commands shouldnt need an explination like the switch operations command above just list them in Chronological order from how i have them listed :
<>Play sound: song
<>Messege: Yea now nathan should be able to get in here
: and watch the water fall after I step on the button
<>Move Event: this Event, face left

your done now make sure the graphic movement type displays: CUstom Pattern (By default it shows stationary)

Ok we are done you can add comments if you would like to remeber incase you forget but i dont give a crap really about them..
ahem... you done adding your comments ... now click ok

13. On left side create an event named nathan; graphic settings should display nothing after you click ok it should be pink
~Easy road from here woot~
14. Ok now at the top left of the map somewhere place an event with the name: Confirm
Ä. ok now lets see i want you to make the graphic for this somethin from object 2 or a chest what ever you like just have it make since. Have the event below the hero and activated by touch instead of Action key

~Page one Page two what are you talking about ~

15. Ok now the only command you need to place is a messege saying
<>Messege: It doesnt seem to be working hmm, maybe i have to active a switch
*15. is what happens if the switch is not on

16. Now at the top page click on the button that says : new page
- Woot your at the end now only about 4 of my ranting on to go woot

17.You do it yet .... geez your slow ... ok make sure the tab 2 is showing
and the commands are empty in it
Ÿ: Now click check box next to switch... yea the one at the very top of the list the fist one not the second.
žone already you must be getting excited ok click the "..." thing again and select "0005:TeleNPCinROom"
*This tells the event on page 2 that it will display page one until you go to the Catalyst and press enter
18. woot woot only one more event to go after this list the event commands directly as shown:
<>Message: Hope this works
<>Flash Screen (Roo,G00,B00,V16),0.5 sec (wait)
<>MEssage: Wow its working
<>Show battle ANimation: Ice breath, Hero (wait)
<>Move Event:Nathan, Change Graphic,
<> Play BGM Village2
<>Message: You have just created your first switch Hurry now to Variables and forks =)
<Switch Operation:[0005: TeleNPCinRoom] off


your done you just need a start party position trigger and your done
Woot woot!! woot woot!!.... .... stop looking at me like that

When you test play this go to the Event named Confirm first and then after you go to Catalyst go through with everything ... if there are any problems i prob forgot to add somethin most likely no tho
