Spell-Check

Very simple concept. With the new addition of the VB upgrades, I'm almost positive there would be an upgrade floating around that would easily implement into these forums that would have an optional button for a Spell-Checker.

Now, with the complaints and bitching about grammar, this would be ideal in the forums atleast for some people that seem to spell to save their lives, or the ones that are too lazy to get the presentation of their statement on key with what the message is.

It doesn't have to be mandatory or anything, just a simple addition that would allow members at their will to spell-correct any mistakes in the quick reply field, as well as in the advanced form.


And no, I would rather not anybody say that it's easier to upgrade on your own browser, as anyone that has a job, that posts from work, or posts from a library, etc, that administrative restrictions have been placed wouldn't be able to do so, while if they were forum-side there would be no conflict as it would load with the boards.

(and Yes, I know we have one, but it's not included in the forums, and downloading add-on's at work isn't allowed)

Or, yes. We do have one but you have to intall a plug-in, which is my whole problem with it.

ah, missed the plug-in part. having a spellcheck would eliminate the need for me to alt tab google a word then alt tab back.

vB has or had at one point a spellcheck feature, but you have to pay a subscription fee to a service provider.

Ah really? So essentially there would have to be a freeware version floating around that would correctly plug into the current VB version?.. Bleh

Get FireFox, it has a spell checker.

And yet, that spell check sucks. It couldn't tell me the right way to spell extreamly and still won't. It just gives a list of words that have nothing to do with it.

ya thats the same at school though they never update Firefox ever and on mine its spell check is quiet nice but it takes to much time and it doesn't have grammar

Maybe you were using a thesaurus.

Firefox doesn't even releate to what I had suggested. I am talking about a forum-side Spell Checker, not a browser side. As I've stated before, some of us CANNOT.. CAN-NOT download any plug-ins, and wouldn't want to get around the security anyway to be flagged for something so stupid.
