I heard they have been aware of CTD since beta. Kinda leaves me hanging... I guess i might not be able to play until they fix it. Well, I can play but man it's demoralizing...
Without Dungeons and Dragons there would have been no Warhammer, and without Warhammer there would have been no World of Warcraft. To say that World of Warcraft thought of everyone by itself and stole no idea's from anything is absurd. Dungeons and Dragons created multiplayer questing, and roleplaying. Take that away from World of Warcraft and you have nothing.
You have a cool name.

I found something interesting, I went onto another server and tried it out after logging into my FULL 300+ destruction server and immedetly being CTD'ed. and everything was working fine, I logged out of the Order character I had made and went to change servers when I saw this..
Request Timed Out and it had two options. Exit to loader or Exit to desktop. Do you think there is some way it is overriding decision and just exiting to the desktop?
That is durring the opening sequence. Once the game actually started WAR.exe jumped up to 96 to 99% CPU Usage. Using about 100,000 Kb worth of memory... If I understand memory correctly.. then my 1Gb of RAM isn't enough for this game.
My question to you is, would the computer end a funtion that was using all of its memory? Im assuming my computer is closing it because it doesn't have the resources to attend to other functions.
Is upgrading RAM as easy as buying the correct piece and sticking it in?
and
Is upgrading ram going to fix it, or would I have to purchase other things along with it, like a video card or something?
I'd say first, try turning off your anti-virus. Second, buy more physical memory. Looking at it again, it seems that windows recommends 150% of your physical memory as your virtual memory size, whereas I've always set it at 200% fixed in a contiguous block on my HD (with a variable size page file, as your HD fills up, your page file becomes more fragmented and this reduces performance).
WetWired, do you play this laggy? That is about how I play.. some of the comments also was wondering, if I got another Gig of RAM would wit be alot smoother?
In general, my experience is lag free (though I do have a problem where pathing NPCs show up where they'll end up before they get there, I don't think that's actually lag). I do have loading freezeups, however. The guy in the video had lag as well as a system problem. I am no expert in diagnosing the source of slowdown. I'd say if your HD light is blinking contantly while you're playing, you could benefit from more RAM. Otherwise, your issue is elsewhere.
My issue is clearly with viewing areas that are not precached, mostly when I quickly change camera direction.
I'll watch for my HD light next time I start up. If I am roaming on a path camera straight and just running it's smooth as butter, otherwise it gets pretty choppy like the guy above.
