Punching Bags -- Suggestions
Reply
Posted 2004-07-19, 04:32 PM
I am thinking about buying some punching bags and getting into boxing with my friends.

I weigh 130 lbs, 5'6, moderately strong.

What size/brand/whatever should I be looking for?

Oh jeez, I don't know much about punching bags, but I do have one of my own. You want a relatively speaking large and heavy bag, not some pussy coushin to hit. Honestly, they are all so durable, that you should probably just go out and get the cheapest one that is like 100 pounds heavy or so.

My friend has a kicking/punching bag.. Its quite fun, but, make sure you get one that has a good durable outside leather/material, and sand in it, or something inside of it... Dont get one that stands up, because you'll need about 10 sandbags to hold it down. Atleast that what it takes when i punch it.

I have a nice one, Its a bit sall for the place I have it at but its got a chain holding it up to a raffter and 2 rubber bunggies hold it to a eye hold on the cemment floor. Made of leather filled with what I think to be lent. makes for a good time. only problem is I have snaped the chin twice allready, and the damned thing hurts when it falls on your feet.
