Auron is calm and would wait. Dante could probably be aerial for some time but if he went for an attack, Auron could swing his sword and use Power Break. Decreasing Dante's strength and making his swings with his sword feel like scratches from a toothpick.

Armor break would decrease Dante's physical abillity to block a strike from Auron. Mental break would lower Dante's magical defense. Of course, with Dante's speed it would take several attempts for Auron to have hit him with all these attacks.

Dante's guns would be an issue though... Auron is not know for his speed. He would have to rely on all his senses, including the sixth, to be able to dodge Dante's gun attacks. Then again, he could equip Evade & Counter, which pretty much ALWAYS allows you to dodge your enemy's attacks, even if you can't hit them back. You might miss him a hundred times, but it is proven that once in that hundred times he would have to be able to hit Dante with his sword.

Regarding Bushido, there are 4 attacks.

Dragon Fang: Attacks all enemies with a fiery attack by thrusting his blade into the ground.

Shooting Star: Hits the opponent with his sword and knocks them away.(Eject)

Banishing Blade: Auron takes a swig frrom his jug and spits it onto his sword. It swirls with supernatural power and then he thrusts the energy at one opponent.

Tornado: Uses his power to conjure a tornado and then thrust it at all opponents. Throws his jug into the winds, making them turn to winds of fire. They swirl arohnd and then fall to the ground.

Tornado would be impossible to dodge.

As for Devil Mode, I can't say with a a hundred percent certainty what it is all about and how it comes about, so I'll leave that out of my post for now.

Well when I played DMC, Devil mode seemed to be nothing more than a boost to Dante's life regeneration(not much of a boost) and he seemed to move a bit faster.

Evade and Counter isn't a character specific equipment.

Auron is ineffective against Nimble and Aerial opponent. (I remember switching for Wakka when I fight those monsters.) Also, who says that Dante will close in and attack? He can stand back and shoot, charging up his Devil gauge, and wait for Auron to act.

If Dante goes into Devil Trigger with Alastor, he can (Air Hike, and then) use Air Raid and shoot lightning down from the air, it is a ranged attack.

The once in a hundred isn't a good argument, because you won't have that many chances. You are assuming that Auron will dodge every attack from Dante, which is not going to happen.

As for Overdrive, you will need to charge up the meter. In Auron case, he will need to deal damage to Dante in order to charge up the meter, or taking damage. (Unless you include the turn reaches Auron when he's the only member in the party who's able to fight...) In this match, I don't think Auron will be able to use his Overdrive more than once.

So what if Auron uses his Overdrive? He needs to execute it really fast so that the overdrive will be at its maximum effect. At the same time, he needs to make sure it will actually hit Dante. (For the case in Tornado, maybe not.) But then Dante can throw in a Holy Water and break the move. (Holy water destroys all the enemies in the area. Against bosses, it will interrupt their moves and damages them. Quite a lot of damage, too.)

Uh...I meant Dante would doge 100 of Auron's attacks BEFORE Auron would be able to hit him. I'm not stupid. I know Dante is fast and Auron isn't.

The more I hear about Dante, the more I hate his guts. What makes you think he'll get that Devil whatnot, before Auron gets his Overdrive? It does take time to execute these attacks, but Tornado with its high winds could keep Dante away long enough for Auron to push the Tornado at Dante. He couldn't dodge something that enormous.

Raziel said armor was in again. Evade & Counter is equiped to armor. So...

Yeah, armor is fine. I'm not going to nitpick over equipment. Just remember, even though Evade & Counter raises evade stats, that's in reference to RPG attacks. There's a huge difference between being swiped at by an imp and dodging a couple hundred bullets in the span of ten seconds.

Heheh i get it, this aint The Matrix

Well i didnt want to be part of this fight to let more space to others opinion but there is 1 thing i need to point out. Dante cant fly right ? So even if he jump he has to land at some time and that would be a weak point since he would be wide open for an attack just before the landing.

Dante will definitely get Devil Trigger before Auron gets his overdrive. There are 10 symbols in Devil Gauge, Dante only needs 3 symbols to trigger it. And it takes about 3 grenade shots to charge it, or just by shooting Ebony and Ivory at Auron for about 8 seconds. It doesn't even need to actually damage Auron for the gauge to charge up.

As for Tornado, I said Holy Water. If Auron finally uses his Overdrive, Dante just needs to simply toss in a Holy Water to break the move and at the same time damages Auron.

Dante can fly, Air Raid.

I hate Dante.... He might win....???!??? I would hate that. I would be angry.

Honestly, I give up.... Sen, your good.... I can't think of one more trick Auron could pull out of his hat. If someone else can es and I think what they say has possibilities, I might join in again, but if they don't, I'm done with this battle.

Since when could characters use items in battle? Holy water wasn't one of Dante's weapons, it was an item, and I don't think items are allowed.

Well if thats the case he has to come down at some point and that mean serious damage when he land mostly cause he would be wide open for an attack and would most likely hit the ground giving time for another free attack.

Also could someone explain those ability to me ?
Abilities: Break Damage Limit, Triple Overdrive, First Strike, Counterattack.
From what i understand they are granted by Auron Legendary weapon. (Masamune)

Well im interested mostly in knowing what Break Damage Limit and Triple Overdrive do.

For First Strike it would mean that auron would get an advantage in reaction time. While it doesnt make him faster in movement it would make him more aware of what is going helping him finding better way to avoid some attack.

For the Air raid it s the lightning thing right ?
He could always run arround trying to avoid them and use tombstone to get less damage if not blocking it totaly whit chance.

Dante will be killed, Auron will slice that twit in two

Items are not allowed. There are too many potions and random collectible items that could make a character invincible and such. If Holy Water can be classified as an item, it's not allowed.

Then it's no go. It's too easy to just say "he has 99 Holy Wars, he kills the other dude, the end." Items are too easy to abuse, so I'm gonna have to pound the gavel here.

OK, so back to the battle. Yes, Dante would probably get devil mode before Auron gets an overdrive, but if Dante goes into devil mode with only 3 symbols, he'll be in devil mode for a whole 3 seconds or so. If I remember correctly, for me Auron always had more health than anyone else in my party, so he won't have any trouble waiting for his overdrive. One he gets it, he can just use Tornado and Dante will be in trouble. He'd be very suceptable to Aurons powerful attacks, and he'd be dead meat in no time.

In normal mode, 3 symbols last more than 3 seconds, and it is easy to fill up the gauge to full. It increases when Dante attacks and recieves damage.

Why would Dante be hit for sure when he lands? The arena is a huge open area, I don't think Auron can get close to Dante that easy. It will take Dante about 1 second to recover when he lands (By recover I mean, he can start rolling and everything.) Can Auron get close enough and hit Dante at in such a short period of time?

It won't be a wise thing for Auron to stay close to Dante when he's in the Air shooting lightning, because it will hurt. Dante doesn't have to fly to Auron while he shoots, so there will be a distance between them, and giving Dante enough time to land safely.

In the mid of the battle, Dante can just switch to Ifrit, and dodges most things with Rolling Blaze. Engulfed in flame when he jumps (and invincible when he jumps), and at the same time damages and stuns (Or more like breaking the enemy's move) the enemy.

Dante can also equip his Bangle of Time (which freezes time, at the expense of using the Devil Gauge) and freezes time as Auron is about to use his Overdrive. With a full gauge, Dante can freeze time for about 20 seconds to half a minute.

(It is not classified as an item because Dante actually equips it. You can see it on the screen, even.)
