These bands are techno bands....

Daft Punk= Trance/un named/progressive=>Have nothing of trance and even less of progressive, somewhat of a mixture of Electro, thechno and House, all in French Styile
Aphex Twin= Trance/Wierdo=>Industrial with some electro touch and experimental mainly, also don't forget about their selected ambient albums. Another band that doesn't have shit to do with trance...
BTW i cannot answer about 5 concrete bands but now what i listen the most are
1)Tool.
2)Nine inch nails.
3)Aphex Twin.
4)New order.
5)Mindless self indulgence.

It's just that I don't like every work of a band, just selected albums or songs and I actually have like 20 fav bands (Not counting DJ's) of really variated music styles, punk, hard rock, experimental, dub, fusion, industrial, hard techno, techno, house, deep house, ambient, Goa, thrash metal, black metal, death metal.... Impossible to make a 5fav's choice

Another good band that I should have put on my list is Switchfoot...if you've never heard them you should try it...It's very relaxing...
