Elpida Memory tapped to make PS3 chips


Japanese DRAM producer Elpida are set to supply chips for the PlayStation 3 and maybe even Nintendo's next-gen console.

Cell processor to run at 4 GHz +

IBM, Sony and Toshiba have unveiled more details about their much anticipated Cell processor that is said to crush the performance of current AMD and Intel processors. The chip will be debuting in the PlayStation 3 and top clock speeds of 4 GHz.
