I have acted in a Renaissance Fair. It wasn't that great because all I got for it was a free 40$ set of devils sticks. The costume was comfy though, and I got in a newspaper

A real mace would get the job done as well, imo.

More of a mess to clean up though. Easier to just spray them with a little pepper and have them crying for mommy rather than deal with all the blood and guts.

That's not really the same thing. I've been to Medieval times, and it was brilliant, but those guys are actors, not LARPers.

The only advantage I see about this is it's active and contrary to the normal, sedentary lifestyle of the stereotypical nerd.

I like the guy that was just yelling "Lightning bolt" over and over again. That was say better than the whole thing. Was he throwing rocks art the big guy though?
