Problems of Play Station 2

i play DVD's on mine about once a month, games a few hours a day, and i've not had any problems in the past 2 years and 3 months.

I'v had mine for 1.5 years now. It runs fine. Actually very good, like its new. Your asking what I do? Well....i... 1: Talk to it. 2: Pet it befor play time. 3: Give cookies to it after play time. 4: NEVER SAY, "my psx2 sucks" 5: Once in a while give it a bath. 6: Treat it like a pet. 7: Give it lots of rests if playing for a long time. ^-^

Why get a PS2 when there are so many problems with it. And why play DVD's on it when u can just buy a system that is meant for playing DVD.

No one said that they bought Playstation 2s specifically for playing DVDs. And why not play DVDs on a Playstation 2, after all, it does play DVDs.

But i heard from people that the DVD's dont run good on PS2.

I think people just find it wierd to be puting in a dvd into there console. I thought when I saw a few dvds on my friends ps2 I never found it all that bad, its maybe not the best quality that you will find on a dvd system, but one thing is for sure its damn better than any vhs.

Unless you're buying one of those 500 dollar HD TV ready running through Color Stream RGB components. Quality? It's a DVD player, what are you talking about quality. People are just full of shit. The Playstation 2 DVD player does everything the stand alones do.

Just buy a new one... my friend's PS2 broke and he bought a new one.

I wouldn't buy another one if the first one broke, buy a system that is reliable.

I'm not really sure why his PS2 broke, it was quite odd I must admit.

The laser that reads the discs burns out so that you first cannot play blue/purple discs then you cannot play any... I reccomend you get the 2-year warranty when you buy the PS2... this happened to me and I had to buy a new one.

You dont necissarilly need a plasma screen TV to have the components. All you simply need is a TV with the proper ports and cables. Then you need a worthy amplifier.

And just about any TV with RGB components that will properly represent the power of a 500 dollar TV is a HD or Plasma television. An amplifier doesn't have a god damn thing to do with anything.
