Well, I guess you could say it IS a religion. There are followers. There's a "leader prophet." There's a holy text. It shows all of the signs of a typical religion.

I would just compare this to 'jedi' as a religion, not christanity. Christanity gives people hope and faith to live their lives by better, this FSM is meerly just a joke as the concept it's just trying to immitate other religions..

Yes, Christianity does help some people live happier lives. They also believe in absolute bullshit and have to follow all sorts of rules to be a "good" Christian. I've seen religion also screw up a lot of peoples lives.

The only religion I really know of that is purely helpful in living a better life is Buddhism. Now, I don't know everything about all religions, so this is merely my opinion and you're free to disagree with me. However, in Buddhism, you do not have to believe in a God, you do not have to submit to his Will. You don't have to worship prophets.

Religion might have some good elements but it also has some very, very bad ones. A LOT of wars have been over religion. A LOT of people have died in the name of religion. A LOT of people have killed in the name of religion. Is it really worth it?

I guess what I'm pretty much trying to say is that religion is the best example of the phrase "Ignorance is Bliss." Yeah, I could live my life believing in a God for absolutely no reason in the hopes that when I die I'll be a lot better off than I was in my life, that I'll be "reborn" into a happier life. As long as I do what the Church says I should do.

Well of course, Religion though has caused so many wars because of how long it has been around, the basis of religion has been around for as long as mankind can date back. Causing wars because of it is just human nature playing out it's course and using that as an excuse because they don't like somebody who is different.
