Who knows why. Maybe to celebrate the fact that they were given life and brought into this world from the womb on that day. Maybe it has Pagan roots that were borrowed like a few holidays. By the way, kyeruu, I'm still waiting for your response. And what do the rest of you know about Jehovah's Witnesses?
