It doesn't even take a phone call. You just do it through your 360 I believe.

I guess I need to give it my credit card information or something? What happens if I have all new credit cards now, do I just need to reregister?

I don't get this... your account is specific to your 360? So you can't go over to someone else's house, start up their 360, and play a game on your account?

Nope you can't. Only on your XBox, unless you register your account via credit card on someone else's XBox.

Well ain't that darft.

To say they lead the online service and are five or so years ahead of competitors, Microsoft aren't half stupid when it comes to using the online service.

What's wrong with being able to access your account on any 360 anywhere in the world? It'd mean you can game anywhere, playing against your friends, wherever you are, for one thing.

Welcome to the world of Digital Rights Management.

Just in case you were wondering, Sony is one of the biggest proponents of DRM.

I know Sony are bastards with DRM - it was one of the reasons why the PS3 was delayed from Spring '06 to November 17th. And who can forget the rootkits?

But I'd bet your bottom dollar on it that you can access your PS3 Network account on any PS3, anywhere in the world.

But it does wait to be seen. I've got my account (Lenny1882 as my tag... some bastard took Lenny. ), now I just need the PS3.
