Xenosaga or Dark Cloud 2

My friend does not own these games. He works at Blockbuster so he rented them for himself. Being the selfish person that he is, he will not do me the favor of renting the games for me. This would not be a problem for him at all consdering he gets 10 rentals a week. Oh well.

Anyway, is the Dark Cloud 2 battle system like Diablo's battle system, in which you just run up to the monster and attack, compared to like Final Fantasy's battle system?
