Design change for PS3 controller?

At E3 2005, the unveiling of the PlayStation 3 conceptual controller design caused quite a stir. Many fans since the unveiling have said that the boomerang-like shape of the redesigned controller is likely to handle poorly and thus unfortunately fails to meet Sony’s meticulous customer expectations.

Of course the controller was just a prototype and was almost bound to undergo modifications since E3. Supporting this conclusion was the fact that at the Las Vegas CES: 2006 a big surprise came when there was no PS3 controller shown alongside the PlayStation 3 console.
